The 8-VS droid was originally built by Colicoid Creation Nest, starting out as a class 4 sabotage droid. Programmed with a vast knowledge base of the inner workings of all enemy ships, he used his size and agility to wreak havoc to enemy ships unbeknownst to those aboard. His features gave him an advantage over all other opponents, having transformative limbs that provided various means of transportation and dexterity. His tires zipped quickly through narrow service corridors, and he used his shields as ballasts to make hairpin turns while avoiding incoming enemy fire. Once arriving at a destination, his wheels unfolded into crab-like appendages that even allowed him to walk up walls and ceilings. And finally, for the hard to reach places, the powerful chest motors powered him to fly vertically like a drone. Once he got to his destination, the 8-VS would hellishly cut wires with a deftness and skill that obliterated ships before its inhabitants even knew it had arrived. He was a dreaded foe,  with a different tool for destruction at the end of each of his 8 appendages- lasers that cut with extreme precision, drills that quickly worked to dismantle machinery, grippers that pulled wires apart in the blink of an eye, and claw-like shears to slice anything in his way.

After fulfilling one of his missions, the droid was left alone on an abandoned planet with a downed ship. The crew agreed not to destroy him, and he did not know what to do with this new found freedom. Eventually, he decided to go directly against his programming and sought ways to repair and fortify ships, giving himself the name “Octayvyo”. Given his intimate knowledge of all ships and their inner workings, Octayvyo began to fortify all known weak spots, carefully rewiring and rebuilding vessels to elevated capabilities. He had found his true calling: he is now a very sought-after ship engineer, devoted to repairing all kinds of ships to make up for his destructive past.
