6 Steps to Learn How to Set Up a Tripod and Install the Level
Setting up a tripod is an essential part of using a laser level to achieve accurate and precise measurements in construction or home improvement projects. While it may seem like a simple task, there are a few crucial steps to follow to ensure the tripod is set up correctly.
Supplies
Materials:
- Telescopic Rod Section*4 (Actually, I don't think all of them are need to be used.)
- Tail Rod*1(With spring loaded base)
- Top Ceiling Skid Plate*1
- Height Adjustable Bracket*1
- Screw Adapter*1
- Adjustable Stable Tripod*1
Open and Extend the Tripod
- Open the three latches of the tripod to extend the legs
- Pull out the extension rod
- Re-lock the latches to secure the legs in place
Attach the Tail Rod
- Pass the Tail Rod through the hole in the middle of the bottom of the tripod
- Make sure it is securely in place
I saw someone would combine the rods firstly instead of pass it to tripod. I don't think it is a good idea.
Install the Height Adjustable Bracket
- Pass one of the Telescopic Rod Sections through the hole of the Height Adjustable Bracket
- Pull and lock the trigger in the Height Adjustable Bracket to secure the rod section in place
Assemble the Telescopic Rod Sections
- Take one of the Telescopic Rod Sections to assemble the top fittings together
- Splice the Telescopic Rod Section together with other parts in the specified order
- The strut combined with the top accessories is the top
- The strut combined with the Height Adjustable Bracket is the middle part
- The part combined with the pedal strut and the tripod is the bottom
Sometimes, the rods will be hard to be tighten and loosen. I will consider to use a dry lube such as WD-40 SPECIALIST DRY LUBE with PTFE on the threads.
Adjust and Secure the Foot Support Rod
- Loosen the locking device of the foot support rod and pull out the extension rod
- Use the foot to push the combined support rod up and down
- Re-lock the locking device to complete the assembly
Install the Laser Level and Adjust to the Desired Height
- Install the level on the Height Adjustable Bracket according to the bottom screw port of the level and the adapter
- Turn on the laser level and project the laser line on the wall
- Adjust the height from the Height Adjustable Bracket to the laser line according to the height of the measured laser line on the wall
- Use the fine adjustment function on the Height Adjustable Bracket if necessary, and refer to the silk-printed scale on the support rod as a reference for fine adjustment
Actually, I think the camera can be installed with it as well. Just need a special plate and remove one or two rods.
