5 Minute Forever and a Day Air Freshener
So I bought a $8 air freshner "packet" that lasted about a month. It had some sort of plastic beads inside a fabric pouch. I liked it. But I didnt like the price tag. So by accident and obsession, I discovered a very easy, very fast, make at home imitation air freshener that lasts just as long. Well, I'm just guessing here, I just made them last week, but the smell is so fresh and potent that I believe it will last for a while.
Get Your Stuff
So you will need three things:
Purex Crystals (in the laundry dept.)
mesh fabric or tulle netting (with tiny holes)
sewing machine
Piece It
So cut yourself a 5'x10' or so rectangle of the tulle, netting or mesh.
Fold in half, hamburger style.
Sew two sides- about 1/2 inch from the side
(get creative, on these pictured I used a simple stitch, but I have prettier ones that I will use for gifts)
Fill the packet with about two tablespoons of the crystals.
Sew the open side.
Done!
Notes
I dont know the safety or fire proof capabilities of these air fresheners. The crystals are made for clothes so they shouldnt stain anything. But they are perfect for the car, which is why I made them or a closet. I havent made any with elastic loop "hangers" but I think that would be a good idea too. Make. Smell. Enjoy!
