DIY: USB LED Light in 5 Min
01.jpg

In this Instructable, I made a simple LED light than can be powered from a USB port.

What do you need:

  • 1 x LED
  • 1 x 100 ohm Resistor
  • 1 x USB cable (it does not matter what cable as long as it has a USB plug)
  • 1x Ping-Pong Ball
  • Hot glue

Prepare the Plug

I cut off the plug and stripped the cables.

We need only red and a black cable. If there are 2 more cables, you can cut them off. They are used for the data.

Solder the LED and Resistor to the USB Plug

To make sure the LED does not burn out when connected to a USB port, I soldered a 100 ohm resistor.

Put It in the Ping-Pong Ball

I bent the LED, so it would take less space, then I glued it to the plug.

I cut a hole in a ping-pong ball and put it in the USB plug.

A drop of glue was applied, so the ball would not fall off.

That's it!
