4 Course Meal to Satisfy Guests
Hi, my mom made me make dinner tonight and I thought that I should put it on Instructables so we had one of her friends over and he loved it, so I hope you like this!
Supplies
Banana Pudding:
5oz instant vanilla pudding mix
2cups cold milk
14oz sweetened condensed milk
1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
12oz (Or 1 1/2 cups) Cool Whip
Vanilla wafers (You kind of use them as you go)
Bananas (You also use these as you go)
Trifle bowl
Breadsticks:
1 cup and 2 tablespoons warm water
1 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
2 tablespoons granulated sugar 3- 3 1/2
3- 3 1/2cups bread flour
1 3/4 teaspoons salt
3 Tablespoons vegetable oil
1 Stick of butter
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 Teaspoon iodized salt
Linguini:
Bottle of red sauce
2 boxes of linguini
Salad:
I just used a salad kit but you can make whatever salad you’d like
Veggie platter:
Cucumber
Hummus
Carrot
Black olives
Grape tomatoes
Pudding
Add your milk and pudding and beat for two minutes. And yes you want to do the pudding in the morning so that you can chill it till dinner.
Condensed Milk
Add in your condensed milk and beat until smooth and creamy.
Vanilla Extract
Stir in your vanilla extract until dissolved.
Cool Whip
Beat in your cool whip.
Finished Pudding and Layering
When you’re finished, layer half of the pudding and cover with bananas and vanilla wafers.
Finishing Pudding
When you finished layering the first layer add the second layer and make it look nice cover in bananas (I mean a lot a lot of bananas) cover with light layer of cool whip and crushed vanilla wafers.
Breadsticks
These breadsticks take 3 hours to make (Mainly just the rising) but if you are eating at 6:00 start them at 3:00.
So first put your yeast, water, and sugar (Only 1/2 teaspoon though) then let sit for 10 minutes.
Flour
After the 10 minutes add in flour.
The Rest of the Sugar and Oil
Add in the rest of your sugar and the oil.
Stirring and Kneading
Stir until combined and than knead until you have a nice dough.
Transferring and Rising for the First Time
Transfer into a buttered bowl and set in a warm place for an hour and a half. (Here in bend it was about a hundred degrees so that’s why I put my dough outside)
Setting the Table
While your waiting for your bread dough to rise you should set the table. First put a flower in the middle of the table.
Plates
Put your salad plate onto your large plate.
Napkin Folding
Well actually I used paper towel, but what you want to do is fold in half, in half, and in half again.
Silverware
Do Knife, Spoon, Fork.
Second Rise
A lot of people where anxiously waiting, (as you can tell by my little brothers foot in the background. And also it started storming so I used the oven light as a warm thing) So you next want to roll out 7-9 inch ropes and set them in a warm place this time for an hour. Depending on how fast your oven is start preheating to 425F 5-15 minutes before the hour ends.
Veggie Plater
Technically this is the first course but depending on how long things take you, spread it out throughout the day. Chop up and rinse the vegetables and then put them in the platter.
Salad
Either put together the salad from in the pack or make your own salad.
Water for Linguini
Start boiling the water, fill up the pot almost all the way but not to much.
Baking the Breadsticks
Put your breadsticks in for 10-13 minutes. The breadsticks are in there, the top oven light just doesn’t work for some unapparent reason.
Red Sauce and Linguini ‘
Put the red sauce in a small sauce pan and pour the linguini into the boiling water. (Once the water comes to a boil) follow instructions on the packet for doneness.
Yay! Your Done
Now that you’re done, put the linguini into a large bowl, put the red sauce in a medium bowl, breadsticks on a plate,(after rubbing butter over the breadsticks and sprinkling the garlic powder, salt mixture). Get everything on the table and enjoy!
1st course (Appetizer): Vegetable platter
2nd course: Breadsticks and salad
3rd course (Entree): Linguini and red sauce (You could shred some parmesan)
4th course (Dessert): Banana pudding
