Tools Required:

Strong sewing needle: should be suitable

Strong thread: preferably nylon or polyester thread that is resistant to wear

Scissors: to cut off excess thread

Strong adhesive (optional): such as shoe glue, to hold the parts in place before sewing

Detailed steps:

1. Prepare the cut area

Before starting to sew

Clean the shoe well

If the cut is in an area that can be glued, you can apply a thin layer of glue to the inner edges of the cut to hold the two pieces together temporarily. This helps to facilitate sewing later.

2. Choose the type of thread

The thread used should be strong enough to withstand the pressure caused by wearing the shoe

It is preferable to use nylon thread or thread specifically for shoes to ensure durability.

3. The amount of thread used

Pass the thread around the shoe twice if you are going to sew the entire shoe, but if you are sewing half the shoe, wrap the thread around the shoe once

4. Start sewing

Insert the needle inside the shoe first, then pull the thread from the inside and make half the thread inside and the other half outside

Insert the needle again after a distance of 1.5 cm (optional) and remove only part of the thread

Then pass the outer thread through it and pull the thread from the inside. Repeat until you reach the end of the sewing

5. Complete the sewing and close it

After completing the sewing along the torn pieces, tie the end of the thread with a strong knot from the inside to secure the sewing. To do it correctly, follow this

This knot is like the other, only this stage differs in one step

It is when inserting the outer thread, we do not pull it to the end, we insert it so that we have a circle

Then we insert the outer thread inside it and pull it

This way we have a strong sewing

Trim the excess thread with scissors, making sure the knot is hidden.

8. Check the repair

After you have finished sewing, bend the shoe slightly and check that there is no excess tension on the stitching area.

If you feel that the stitching is uneven or there is weakness in a certain part, re-sew that part to ensure durability.

Additional tips:

Choosing a needle: Try to use a needle designed for sewing shoes or leather, as they are stronger and designed to penetrate thicker materials.

Test the stitching: Before wearing the shoe again, make sure that the stitching is strong enough and that the cut area is still intact.

By following these steps, you will be able to repair a cut shoe yourself in a manual and effective way, which will extend the life of the shoe and return it to daily use.
