I am a sophomore at Johnathan alder high school. In this instructable I redesigned chess with different pieces and different ways they move. To make the game have a medival them I made a custom wooden board.

The first step was to 3d design the pieces.

Next, you have to print them.

Build the Board

I started by cutting a piece wood 15'' by 15''. Next, measure out the squares. The squares are 1 3/4'' wide. Make sure to have a .5'' boarder around the wooden board.

Painting

You want to paint the entire board brown, light enough for the black lines to show through.

Using flock and any glue, paint diagonal tiles with glue then dust flock on top. Do the same with the grey flock.
