3d Printed Finger Drums for Procrastinating Work
So I was sitting down the other day and drumming on my desk when I hurt my finger by hitting it too hard. Greatly unsatisfied by the inaudible results produced by my inexperienced finger drumming, I decided that the world needed better... I needed better... So I sat down, fingers typing away, cad on one monitor and youtube on the other. After distracting myself from being productive I finally created the finger drum, featuring 2 different sized drums for maximum dopamine reception, and a soundhole for maximum annoyance. No longer shall we have to hurt our fingers to distract ourselves by making noise, and now, freedom from work...
Supplies
Just need a 3d printer and some filament (and fingers or something to drum with)
Download 3d Model
Download the 3d model as an obj file
Slice It
Slice the model and set the first layer height to 0.2mm, this will make sure that the membrane of the drum is only 1 layer thick
Print It!
Yay! You can now print this model, but be careful not to rip the drum while taking it off
Other Details
If you would like to re-create these without using my models, I sued autodesk fusion 360 to cad these items, I recommend extruding the membrane part of the drum by 0.2 mm or the equivalent first layer height on your printer, make sure that this is the first layer and it should almost be watertight
