Hello Friends,

I'm a mechanical engineering student at Drexel university.

What's the one thing that we all do but don't give much thought about it? That's Right! brushing our teeth. It is one of the most important thing that we should at least do once every day. It is crucial to take care of our oral hygiene and that perfect smile but do we realize that how important it is to have proper maintenance of out dental kit. most of us just throw out toothbrush just like that after brushing, sometimes near the sink, sometimes in bathroom drawers which is totally not the best and the safest way to store them. some people do use toothbrush holders but they are kind of boring and old . So, here it is! I designed a toothbrush holder which is unique, adds to the beauty of your bathroom and most importantly; it totally fits its job.

So, lets get started!

there are thousands of different sort of tooth brush holders available in the market, they come in all shapes and sizes and for different needs, some of them are really nice and good organizers but to be honest they are definitely not cheap and certainly not creative in a way they should be.

I wanted to design something that is easy to design, easy to print and adds uniqueness to your bathroom and most importantly depicts the job it is designed to do. so why not design the tooth itself to hold its cleaner.

Design Ideas and Sketches

For the design I had to choose between incisors, canines and molars and after thinking for a while and drawing some design sketches it was clear that the molar would be best suited for this job due to its big size and self balancing design.

Modeling

For modeling the basic design of the tooth, I used the sculpting feature of fusion 360 using the create form tab. I used the cube to start with and slowly modeled it to give the shape of molars using modify tool. it was fairly easy to reach the perfect shape.

Next I created a cut extrude in the middle of thee tooth to create in cavity to hold the brushes. I also created a partition in the cavity using the extrude tool to create a separation for storing brushes and toothpaste.

3D Printing

Finally, we are ready to 3D print our toothbrush holder and stylize out bathroom. Due to lack of time and lack of a good 3D printer my print was not very good, I had to print in sections but you can print a very good quality prints in one go without slicing.

I hope You enjoyed !!
