Hello! I am a student from Singapore and I find joy in expressing my creativity!

As an individual who frequently uses tissues, I find it cumbersome to retrieve a new packet each time from the storage room. To address this, I have chosen to create a 3D-printed tissue compartment. This design facilitates easy access to tissues and also provides storage space for the next packet, minimizing the need for frequent visits to the storage room.

Supplies

Materials

  • PLA Filament

Hardware

  • 3D Printer (I used Raised3D Pro 2)

Software:

  • Fusion360

Measurements

To begin, I conducted a swift measurement of my standard tissue packet to ensure it would perfectly fit into the allocated space. The resulting dimensions I derived are 150mm x 110mm x 15mm (L x B x W).

Designing on Fusion360

I utilized the tissue measurements as a reference to determine the dimensions of my tissue compartment. To ensure sufficient space, I aimed for the compartment to be at least more than half the size of the tissue packet. Consequently, I set the dimensions to be 80mm x 180mm x 60mm (B x L x H).

Subsequently, I inserted a block between the two ends to create a division between the storage space for the extra tissue packet and the stack of tissues that I will pull out. I made certain that the block was positioned at least 20mm away from one of the ends, considering the thickness of the tissue packet falls between 10-20mm.

Conversely, on the opposite end, I extruded the circle with a diameter of 22mm, extending it by 10mm to create a slot for inserting the tissue, making it easier to pull out. (You may consider enlarging it to a full 22mm, as my tissue did not fit through the 10mm hole.)

Printing and Assembling

After finalizing the 3D design of the tissue compartment, I exported the file as an STL and submitted it for printing. Here is the result after the printing process!

Upon printing the model, I inserted my tissue paper and tissue packet. The fit was perfect (With the exception of the circle)!
