3D Printed Penguin
This penguin can hold stuff inside it's (black) hat. The hole has enough space to fit small things.
Supplies
- Tinkercad
This website/app will be used for making the penguin's 3D design.
- 3D Printer
The only way to get your penguin to become an object is to 3D print the blueprint.
Body of Penguin
Drag a sphere into the grid. Make the dimensions 20.00 (Width) by 20.00 (Length) and by 42.00 (Height)
First Wing of Penguin
Now, place another sphere on to the grid. 27.00 (Height) 11.00 (Width) and 3.0 ( Length). Put this shape on the side of the body you made in the previous step.
Second Wing of Penguin
Now, place another sphere on to the grid. Make the dimensions 27.00 (Height) by 11.00 (Width) and by 3.0 (Length). Put this shape on the side of the body you made,
Head of Penguin
For the head of the penguin place another sphere on to the grid and place it over the body, making sure that they are touching enough to be connected. The dimensions should be 15.00 (Height) by 16.00 (Length) by 16.00 (Width)
Penguin's First Foot
Add one half sphere shape to the grid. Put this under the body of the penguin. The dimensions are 7.00 (Length) by 17.00 (Width) and by 3.00 (Height).
Penguin's Second Foot
Repeat the same thing you did with the last foot. The dimensions are 7.00 by 17.00 by 3.00 just like the other one. Once you have made this one, add it to the other side under the penguin body.
Beak for Penguin
For the beak, add a triangle figure to the grid. Rotate the triangle and add it to the face of the penguin. The dimensions are 5.66 (Length) by 4.78 (Width) and by 5.00 (Height).
Two Eyes for Penguin
Now we can add the eyes. Add another sphere on to the grid and move it towards the face of the penguin, above the beak. Now, change the dimensions of this sphere to be 1.00 (Length) by 2.00 (Width) and by 2.00 (Height). Either repeat this exact same step or copy and paste the object. It's your choice!
Brim of Hat for Penguin
This step is optionally. If you prefer to leave the penguin with no hat, that is fine! If so, the last step right now is to color the penguin and begin printing it! But, if you would prefer a hat on your 3D penguin, continue to follow these steps. Add another sphere on to the grid and move it up towards the very top of the head of the penguin. Then change the diamonds to 18.00 (Length) by 18.00 (Width) and by 1.00 (Height). The sphere should look very thin after changing the size.
Top of Hat for Penguin
Now, to finish up the base of your penguin, add a ring shape. Change the dimensions of this ring shape to 11.81 (Length) by 11.81 (Width) and by 6.00 (Height). Now your hat is complete!
Coloring the Penguin!
Now the final step is to color, or not, either way is perfectly fine! The decision is completely up to you!! And you are done with this penguin.
