3D Printed Micro Stereo

Do you have old, or unused earbuds? Maybe you are just missing one? Resurrect life into them by turning them into mini stereos!


I am in Grade 10 and inroled in Vlearn.

-Hot Glue Sticks

-Old But Working Earbud

Print!

Start by 3D Printing the shell. Download the file below, and print it at .15mm quality settings.

While your shell is printing grab your old ear bud, and a pair of snips because it is time to start hacking! Start by popping off the speaker cover, careful not to tear the wires, then use your snips to carefully trim the housing to get the circuit board out.

Assemble!

Fire up your hot glue gun, because It is time for the two parts to be assembled! Grab the circuit board, and press the speaker into one side of the shell, then do the same for the battery on the other side. Leave the circuit board loose so it can be pulled out to charge.

Time to add the finishing touches to your micro stereo! Trim the paper clip to your desired length, push it through the hole in the top of the shell, and glue it in from the inside. Then grab your silver sharpie to color the speakers, and the black to do the knob, and screen.

All done! Now you can Impress your friends with the smallest stereo they have ever seen! All that's left to do is sit back and listen to your favorite tunes on your micro stereo!
