3D Printable Scissor Hanging Rack

Like many people that do a lot of making and repair across genre's, I have a lot of specialized tools. One thing that has gotten me out of a lot of jams is the variety of styles of scissors I keep at hand.

When I got tired of digging through drawer, they ended up in a bench top "scissor organizer". This took too much bench space, and didn't really make things easier. The ceiling at my primary detail work bench is low with bare joists, so simple hooks or screws were an option, but inelegant and ugly.

Hence, this rack design.

Print It and Mount It

The design is based on a one peg unit that can be end stacked to whatever capacity is needed, yet printed on a small fused filament 3D printer as needed. The STL's attached are for the two, three, and four unit parts, and at 32X52mm unit size, are sized for a #7 deck screw to mount. This is for smaller to medium scissors, which is what I most use and what fit in the handy space. Scaled up by 50%, the size is appropriate for bankers shear, pinking shears, and canvas shears, which are mounted on a backboard at the cutting and layout bench with #9 screws.

Is this a major project? No. Deeply insightful? No.

Might it be useful to someone else, either as-is or as inspiration? I hope.
