This device pushes clean air into a 3m mask or adapted snorkel mask. This utilizes a 12v Fan and 4x roomba 700 Hepa filters. Also known as a PAPR (Powered Air purifying Respirator).

For extended use these are way more comfortable than standard respirators. The PAPR has many advantages. Easier to breath as the air is pushed instead of pulled through the filter for each breath. It purges CO2 preventing headaches and fatigue. Also prevents glasses or shields from fogging. The array of 4 hepa filters aids in high air flow. Very inexpensive to build (around $15)

put a thin bead of silicone on the bottom of the filter holder and Bolt it to the fan. It may also be a good idea to use some silicone or 2 part epoxy to secure the wires to the fan to prevent them from pulling off at the solder joint. Wire the fan to a 12v jack so it can plug into whatever 12v battery pack you use.
