Recycled Butterfly Wall Art - 3D

Lot of crafts can be made with the waste plastic bottles and milk bottles. Here i want to share this simple but eye catching 3D wall craft.I am using plastic milk bottles.

I liked to do recycled paper crafts and give it to my friends and relatives. With glass painting this is my first project. {I got 31 color glass paint kit and acrylic paint as B'day gift from my husband :) }

• Plastic Bottle / Milk bottle
• Scissors / Craft cutter
• Tree Branch
• Permanent marker
• Thick book page / post card
• Glass paint / Acrylic paint
• Hot glue gun

If you have metallic paint or glitter paint, you can also use that.

Draw Butterfly shape of 2 to 3 different size and shape in thick card and cut it.

• Using that template, draw butterfly outline on the bottles with black permanent marker.
• With cutter and scissors, cut about 10 - 15 butterflies.
• I made 3 big butterflies, 7 small butterflies and 1 flower.

With glass paint i painted the butterflies with different colors.

• I used single color for small butterflies.
• For big butterflies, double and mixed colors are used.

Use your imagination for the color combination. Since the bottle is white i didn't use the Stained glass effect with colors.

I started the project at night so i let the painted butterflies dry over night.

• Draw outer line with black marker. It gives a definite look for the butterflies.

I found 3 types of branches during my morning walk. Finding suitable branch is the big task.

• For this wall craft i used small branch

Color the branch black and let it dry.

Now butterflies and tree branch are dried and ready. Assemble the butterflies and flower on the branch. Decor your home with recycled 3D Wall art.

You can stick this pretty butterflies to the front door, on wall or decor near wall clock. You can use butterflies alone to do the wall decor.

The waste bottle and branch are turned into a beautiful wall art. Hope you liked this idea. Try it and let me know your comments.
