3 Diwali Lamps for 2023
Hi All,
Diwali (Festival of Lights) is coming soon. Many of us decorate our homes with lights.
I made 3 lamps using recycled cardboard or glass bottles, which I will share in this article
Shadow Lamp
Material
- Cardboard from any delivery
- Pencil, eraser, and compass
- Box cutter
- Glue
- Metallic acrylic paint
- Tea light
Steps
- Draw the pattern that you like, pick from the internet
- Carefully cut the cardboard as shown
- Glue a small piece of cardboard as a base, and let it dry
- Paint using any metallic color of choice
- Now place this near a wall and light the tea light
- And enjoy the shadow cast on the wall
Glass Bottle
Material
- Old Monk Rum bottle (375ml)
- Terracotta cup (typically used in India for Tea)
- String Lights
- Dremel with 2mm drill bit
- Sandpaper 80 grit
Steps
- Carefully drill holes in a circle as shown on the terracotta cup
- Check if the glass bottle's neck passes through the hole
- If needed use sandpaper to widen the hole
- Once happy, place the string lights in the bottle
- Place the bottle over the terracotta cup
- Switch on and we are done.
- Place it on a shelf or a table and enjoy patterns made by the glass
The House
Material
- Cardboard from any delivery
- Pencil, eraser, and scale
- Box cutter
- PVA Glue
- Coffee stirrer sticks
- String lights
Steps
- Draw a pattern on a paper sheet as shown
- Using this template cut the walls and roof of the house
- Cut the door and windows out
- Glue the walls and base
- Stick paper from inside to diffuse light
- Stick wooden sticks on all the walls
- Let all dry
- The roof is not stuck, so we can operate led lights
- Place the battery powered led lights inside the house
- Switch on and enjoy
