3 Awesome Uses for Alka-Seltzer

We all know Alka-Seltzer. And what comes in the box. "Fast and effective pain relief...Contains Aspirin!...Do not give to children under 16..." (Read that in a gruff voice).

But it's not all that it seems...

Clean Paint Brushes

Usually, when you paint and clean the brushes while switching colours, a little bit of the original paint still remains. So, instead of ruining your paintings and having to waste a canvas, simply drop in about half or one tablet inside a small container. The one in the picture is very small, so I only used a half.

Dip the brush inside, give it a swirl, take it out and wipe it with a tissue. It'll come out looking as good as new!

Foam

Grab a couple of tablets, toss them into a bowl or cup, the narrower the better. Add some water (be careful how much you put in, because if you're in a place where wet floor or mess is not appreciated, the foam can spill out) and watch it fizz. To make it more interesting, you might want to add food colouring or paint and stir it in.

Hissing Noise Maker

Put a tablet in some foil, curve the foil up a bit so it makes a deep cup sort of shape (see image) and add a bit of water. Quickly close the foil up and hold it up to someone's ear. Try hide it near where someone is sitting and throw a faux snake toy in. They'll probably get the scare of their life. I've read a prank where you tie a string to a toy snake and tie the other end to the inside of a cabinet door. When someone opens it the snake would jump out of the cupboard. Try adding this foil thing right when you know someone is going to open a cupboard!

Thanks

Thank you for reading this. If you would like more detail, please mention it. If you've got any other ideas, please share them below in the comments. And of course, please comment, like and share!

I've put a slow motion video of dropping Alka-Seltzer in a cup full of water. The quality isn't exactly top-notch so I apologise if you find it poor.

Cheerio!
