2UZ-FE Timing Belt Replacement | Toyota 4Runner Tundra Sequoia Lexus GX470

Supplies
Drain Coolant
Drain the coolant
Remove the radiator hoses
Remove intake tube
Remove the radiator fan
Remove Accessories
Disconnect the AC compressor from the engine but do not disconnect the AC hoses from the compressor
Remove power steering pump
Remove alternator
Remove radiator fan bearing bracket
Remove Timing Belt
Remove timing belt covers
Remove crank bolt, if you get a lucky a stubby impact wrench will get the bolt out, but you may need to use the toyota harmonic balancer holder tool that was linked to at the beginning of this instructable
Remove the harmonic balancer with a harmonic balancer removal tool which was linked to at the beginning of this instructable
Reinstall the crank bolt and position the engine to top dead center, aligning the cam shaft marks and the mark on the crank
Remove the timing belt tensioner then the belt
Install the Belt
According to Toyotas recommendation for easier belt installation, when looking at the engine, rotate the left(passenger side) cam gear 1 tooth past the timing mark, and the right(driver side) cam gear half a tooth past the timing mark
Install the new timing belt
Install the new belt tensioner
Rotate the engine at least 2 full revolutions and make sure the timing marks on the cam gears and crank still line up at top dead center.
Torque Crank Bolt
Install the crank sensor trigger wheel
Install the harmonic balancer
Using either the toyota harmonic balancer holder tool link above, or by making your own tool, hold the harmonic balancer and torque the crank bolt to 180 ftlb
Reinstall Everything Else
Now the hard part is over you can now relax and coast the rest of the way through this job! Reinstall all of the covers, accessories and hoses that you previously removed. And youre done!
