20 Min Hotdish (Goulash/American Chop Suey)

My family has always called this dish hamburger hotdish. My husband's family called it goulash and I've also heard it called American Chop Suey. So whatever you call it...it's really good and really quick to make.

Ingredients

I use ground turkey for this but ground beef works too.

1 lb ground turkey/beef

1 15oz can diced tomatoes w/garlic & onion

1 15oz can tomato sauce

1 8oz bag NoYolks noodles - dumpling size

Worcestershire sauce

Salt & Pepper

Olive Oil

Make sure you heat up your pan while your gathering together all your ingredients.

If you can also heat up about 3 cups of water to a boiling. I use an electric kettle. You don't have to do this, it just makes bringing this a boil go faster.

Heat your pan on med-high heat. I use a 12" stainless steel pan.

Add roughly a tablespoon of olive oil to the HOT pan.

Add in the ground meat. Cook just until the pink is gone. About 5 mins.

Add in the diced tomatoes and tomato sauce.

Add in the package of noodles. Fill the empty tomato sauce can with hot water and add that plus enough water to come up the sides of the pan. The water doesn't have to cover the noodles.

Shake about 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce stir all to combine.

If it isn't already boiling bring to a boil. Put the lid on and cook for 12-15 mins. or until the noodles are done.

(The egg noodles in the recipe cook fast. If you choose a different noodle they may take more or less time.)

Take the lid off, add salt and pepper, more Worcestershire to taste, serve and eat.
