In this Instructable I am going show you how to create 2 easy Christmas ornaments. I made these a couple years back with my family and thought I would show you how to make them. These are very easy and simple to make with stuff from around your house.

Supplies

For the Candy Cane

  • Chenille Sticks (You can use any color you want)
  • Pony Beads ( I used red and white, but you can use any colors you want your candy cane to be)
  • Scissors

For the Snowman

  • Glue
  • Buttons
  • String or Yarn
  • Parchment Paper
  • Toothpicks ( You can also use sticks from outside)
  • Paper Clips
  • Tape (optional)
  • Scissors

First We Will Make the Candy Cane

For the candy cane go ahead and get your chenille sticks and the beads of your choice. Cut your chenille sticks in half, or as big as you want your candy cane to be.

Next bend the chenille stick so that the beads do not fall off, I just bent mine a little and wrapped a bit around the rest of the stick. After you twist the end add the beads of your choice.

After you are done adding the beads, curve the beaded chenille stick into a 'J', and hang it on your tree. You can experiment with the colors and patterns you use.

Time to Make the Snowman

First get the parchment paper and cut out a small piece, and add tape to the corners. Before you pour the glue cut the yarn 1-3 inches, break the toothpick in half or make sure your sticks are as big as you want the arms to be, bend your paper clip to make a hook at one end and a smaller hook at the other end, and get the buttons you want for the eyes and nose (you can also cut out orange felt to look like a carrot nose).

Adding the Eyes, Nose, Mouth, and Arms

Next pour a circle of glue onto the paper and add your paper clip, and pour more glue on top to make sure the hook doesn't come out. Finally add the buttons for the eyes and nose, add the yarn as the mouth, and the tooth pick/ sticks for the arms. While mine was drying I noticed that it kinda looks like a pig. If you do it in the afternoon you can leave it out overnight to dry, and in the morning it should be dry.

Caution: Blow-drying might cause the glue too spread.

Time to Hang on the Tree

Now hang on the tree and admire your crafting skills.
