1652°F Flame That Lasts Over 100 Hours – Diy Ideas You Need in Your Life Right Now
Hello, everyone! In today's video, I'll show you an amazing idea for creating a super-efficient and portable burner at home. It can also be used as a heater that can run continuously for several days. Just imagine: a burner that operates continuously for over 48 hours!
Supplies
- Baby food jar
- Sandpaper or sponge
- Battery
- Copper tube
- Cold weld
- Liquid
- Cotton thread
First, I used a small glass jar from baby food. Using a sanding sponge, I carefully cleaned the metal lid, completely removing the paint.
I use an old Duracell AAA battery. First, I remove the label. Then, using a small pipe cutter, I cut the battery into two parts, take out all the internal components, and clean it thoroughly. Using a 0.5 mm drill bit, I make a small hole in the top part of the battery near the positive contact. For a more stable and precise flame, it’s better to use a thinner drill bit, such as 0.2 mm.
Now we need to clean or smooth the bottom part of the cut battery. My set of files doesn’t have a handle, so I’ve got a great opportunity to make one myself and test it. I designed a 3D model and, taking advantage of amazing discounts, uploaded the file to the JLC3DP website. After I created my 3D model, I uploaded it to JLC3DP — the future service for on-demand 3D printing. They have an incredibly user-friendly online platform: you upload the model, get an instant cost estimate, and can track your order in real time. Production takes only 24 hours, and shipping takes just 2 days! And that's not all: printing starts at $0.30, and new users can get coupons up to $60! Follow the link in the description and find out how JLC3DP can help bring your ideas to life!

We will need cotton thread. Be sure to use pure cotton, as synthetic materials melt at high temperatures, while cotton absorbs and holds liquid much better. Pay close attention to this important detail. I use nichrome wire. It’s thin and reliable, and it’s not easy to break. The thread needs to be pushed through very tightly. In the video, you can hear how tightly and securely the cotton thread passes through the copper tube.
Now, start winding the copper tube in a spiral around the Duracell AAA battery, and then shape the edges that will be placed inside the jar.
Drill 10 mm holes in the center of the lid. Do not use a regular drill bit, as the holes will not be perfectly round, and you may damage the lid. It’s better to use a countersink drill bit, as it’s much better suited for creating perfectly round holes in thin materials. This is a two-component cold weld based on epoxy. It withstands high temperatures and hardens significantly over time, after which it can be sanded or painted. This material is very convenient for joints exposed to high temperatures, where soldering with tin is not possible, as it would become liquid when heated.
To ensure better gas flow, slightly bend the bottom tube so that the liquid flows more easily inside.
Fill the container with liquid and conduct the first test. Since the two-component weld contains residual flammable components, you should wait a bit during the first test to allow any excess to burn off. Once the burner heats up, you will be able to see its full operation. This type of burner can run for 24, 40, or even 72 hours, depending on the size of the container and how much liquid it can hold. It can be used in hiking trips for cooking, for heating rooms with additional protective devices against open flames, as well as for any other purpose where efficiency, high temperature, and performance are required.
