11 Beer Coasters - Laser Cut, Engraved and UV Printed
This week we are laser cutting, engraving and UV printing coasters with the logos of microbreweries from all around Canada. We've used our Speedy 400 and Speedy 300 FLEXX laser engraving machines as well as our Mutoh 426UF UV printer!
We've created 11 unique coasters each with its own engraving technique.

Coaster 1: Big Rock Brewery
The first coaster we'll do is Big Rock Brewery located in Calgary, AB.
For this coaster we'll use the reverse engraving technique.
We use our TroGlass Reverse Black 3mm cast acrylic.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
LASER: Speedy 400 100w
ENGRAVE: 60 power, 80 speed, 500 PPI
CUT: 60 power, 1 speed, 2500 PPI
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Step 1: We first engrave the reverse acrylic on the back, we'll only etch out our "red" parts. We make sure to flip our image horizontally.
Step 2: We spray paint the entire sheet with red spray paint and let it dry
Step 3: Put the sheet back into the machine and repeat the process with the other colours. You may have to go a bit out-of-focus (i.e. drop the z-axis by 0.1") and use a bit more power on the engraving to go through the paint
Coaster 2: North Brewing Company
The second coaster we'll do is North Brewing Company located in Halifax, NS.
We use our Trotec Solid Wood 3mm Maple.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

CUT: 50 power, 0.5 speed, 2500 PPI
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Step 1: It's a simple technique, put the wood into the machine then engrave (RGB

CUT: 60 power, 1 speed, 2500 PPI
