★UNISEX BALACLAVA HAT★
This is an easy and really warm balaclava hat.
I take the inspiration from an old military balaclava hat I had, and I simplified it.
I really like balaclava hat!

THE PATTERNS
These are the pattern you need to make. They don't need to be perfect... I kind of make them roughly myself, but the hat turn pretty nice.
Take the measurement on your head but try to keep the proportion of my drawing.

CUT THE MAIN PART
Draw the main shape on the fabric and cut 2 equal opposite piece.
If you are using regular wool fabric you need to do zigzag stitches all over the edges (of every piece you will cut from now on), if you use felt you don't.

SEW IT
sew inside out the top part of the balaclava hat.
MAKE THE VISOR
(I suggest a shorter visor than the one I made here).
Cut the visor shape on a flat piece of scrap plastic (if is too soft you can cut more pieces for add strength).
Cut the visor shape on the wool fabric, 2 pieces (leave some edges).
Sew the round part of the fabric together.
Insert the plastic visor.
Sew the visor inside of the fabric and cut away left over (leave a little border).

ATTACH THE VISOR TO THE BALACLAVA
Pin the band on top of the balaclava.
Sew it in place with a really small zigzag stitch. Sew only top side of the band and the lateral sides, not the bottom side (the side sewn to the visor).

FINISHING TOUCHES
Make a fold on the bottom edge of the balaclava (the neck hole) and sew it.
Pin the double folded border on the bottom part of the face hole and sew it in place.

HOW TO WEAR IT
This is how to wear it If you want to use it like a regular hat (see photo):
1- Fold the bottom part up, on top of the visor;
2- fold half of that part down trough the visor.
