I am a High school student(9th grade).

My cousin is a huge Spider-Man fan. He often imitates the web-shooting motion. I wanted to surprise him with a unique gift — a working Spider-Man web shooter made entirely from recycled materials. It’s not only fun for daily play but also makes a great Halloween accessory!

I began by sketching out the structure.

I selected a pen tube with a suitable spring inside and designed the main launching barrel.

Making the Web Bullet

I wrapped a slim wooden craft stick with white paper and attached the sewing thread to it to create a bullet-like projectile. The other end of the thread was attached to the base of the storage tube to keep the thread continuous during launch.

Casing and Component Fixing

Using cardboard, I built the outer shape. (You can have your own shape here)

I fixed both the launching tube and a separate web storage tube inside the box.

Building the Trigger

I crafted a T-shaped trigger using an ice cream stick. Its sides were reinforced with paper strips to make it longer. The trigger was installed at the bottom of the box and could temporarily block or release the tube’s opening when pressed.

Creating the Wrist Strap

I made two wristbands using folded paper strips. One side was glued to the underside of the box, and the other was fitted with Velcro for easy wearing.

Decoration and Final Assembly

Finally, I decorated the top with a Spider-Man logo using carved color-paper.

The result: a cool, homemade web shooter!

Easy to make, you can make it within 2-3 hours when you have all the suitable materials.
