Looking to bring the beauty of autumn indoors without breaking the bank? 🍁 In this project, I created a stunning Leaf Gradient Suncatcher using vibrant leaves collected from nature. This budget-friendly craft showcases intricate patterns reminiscent of stained glass, adding warmth and charm to any room. By transforming simple materials into a decorative piece, I aimed to celebrate the season’s colors while encouraging creativity on a shoestring budget. Let’s dive in and make something beautiful together!

Supplies

• Colorful autumn leaves (free from nature!)

• Old cardboard box (upcycled)

• Self-adhesive transparent plastic or clear tape (like Scotch tape)

• Scissors / Cutter

Collect and Dry Your Leaves

Venture outside to gather a variety of colorful autumn leaves—look for greens, yellows, oranges, and reds! Place the leaves between sheets of newspaper and stack a heavy book on top. Let them dry for at least a week to preserve their beauty.

Prepare Your Frame

Cut an old cardboard box into a rectangular frame measuring approximately 30 x 50 cm, leaving a 3 cm rim. Cover one side of the frame with self-adhesive transparent plastic or clear tape.

Arrange the Leaves and Display

Find the center of the frame and arrange your dried leaves in a gradient, starting with greens in the middle and radiating out to yellows, oranges, and reds. Press them down to secure!

Cover the other side of the frame with transparent plastic or tape to protect your leaves. Trim any excess material and press down.

Display

To display your Leaf Gradient Suncatcher, use adhesive glue strips to attach it to a window. This way, sunlight can shine through and illuminate your beautiful creation!
