Hello! I’m Mohamed Azaruddin, an Electrical Engineer working at Greeny Adventures, a nature-based adventure park in Ooty. My daily work involves ensuring the park runs safely and efficiently—especially in terms of power usage.
In this project, I performed a detailed Energy Audit of our park to identify energy waste, suggest sustainable improvements, and promote awareness among fellow engineers. This initiative supports the Green Earth mission—protecting our planet through mindful energy use.

Greeny Adventures includes:

- Guest rest areas

- Decorative and safety lighting systems

- Lighting circuits
- Ride control panels
- Power outlets
- Motorized systems
Data Collection

We collected data from various points as shown in the image.
Tools like clamp meters and lux meters helped in identifying inefficiencies.
Load Analysis & Observations


- Peak Load Time: 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM (mostly lighting)
- Idle Load: Motors running even when rides are closed
- High Wattage: Old fluorescent lights in staff cabins
- Overcooling: Freezers/coolers running during closed hours
📉 Observations revealed we were consuming 28% more power than necessary!
Recommendations & Improvements
We proposed:
âś… Replace CFLs and fluorescents with LEDs
âś… Install motion sensors in low-traffic areas
âś… Set timers on outdoor decorative lighting
âś… Replace 3-phase motors with IE3 efficiency motors
âś… Use daylight sensors and solar garden lights

Environmental Impact & Sustainability Plan
Environmental impact:

- Reduced thermal stress on cables and DBs

We’re exploring solar panel installation for remote zones and rainwater harvesting to support green infrastructure.
