1. Prepare Your Design:

• Download free leaf line art from the internet or ask a suitable AI source.

• Arrange (7) different leaf shapes on a 20 x 20 cm canvas.

2. Cutting with Laser Cutter:

• Use a Snapmaker AT 250 with a 10W laser in a single pass to cut out the leaf shapes.

• Prepare 7 cardboards, each with the 7 different leaf shapes (keep the cut outs). Laser a tiny hole (2x2 mm) for the threat later in the leave stem.

3. Hand Cutting Tips (if you don’t have a laser cutter):

• Use a sharp craft knife and a self-healing mat.

• Score the outlines lightly before cutting to reduce tearing.

• Cut slowly around curves for best results.

1. Keep Leaves in Place:

• Paint the leaves while they are still in their cardboard cutout to avoid smudging.

2. Color Application:

• Start with a mix of green and blue.

• Move to green and yellow, then add red.

• Finish with a hint of gold for a touch of autumn sparkle.

• Apply one thick coat on each side of the leaves.

3. Drying:

• Let the leaves air dry, or speed up drying by placing them in an oven at low temperature.

Assemble the Garland

1. Create Multiple Lines:

• Cut several lengths of black sewing thread.

2. Tie the Leaves:

• Attach each leaf to the threads with simple knots, spacing them about 5-7 cm apart.

• Stagger the leaves between different lines for a layered, curtain-like effect.

3. Adjust for Effect:

• Once all leaves are attached, adjust their positions to create a natural, flowing look.

Hang and Display

1. Choose a Location:

• Find a spot where the garland can be prominently displayed, such as above a window or across a doorway.

2. Hang the Lines:

• Use hooks or thumbtacks to attach the top of each thread to the wall.

• Vary the heights for a dynamic, cascading effect.

3. Add Lights (Optional):

• For a cozy autumn glow, string fairy lights behind the garland.
